Existing Pierhead Play Park 01

Background and Information

Background

Early in 2018, a survey was carried out on the play park equipment and the swings were deemed unsafe and subsequently removed.

With no funding or budget, the play park was falling into neglect, with a strong possibility that further items of equipment would be removed. Ultimately, the park would no longer be attractive and eventually close.

Information

In an attempt to rescue the park, a Support Group was formed by concerned residents from North Queensferry.

This Group meet on a regular basis and, to date, have been successful in securing council and private funding. Initial designs, based on a survey carried out by the Group at the local Primary School, have been developed.

The options were displayed at the Community Centre, the Primary School and Village Show (September 2018) and gain valuable feedback from the community, and more importantly, the children of the village.

This is just the start of the journey, but with local support, the Group are confident in achieving their goal---to re-furbish the Play Park. We should not overlook the fact that the views from the play park are possibly amongst the best in Scotland, taking in the three iconic bridges over the Firth of Forth.
